Frankwatching recently start publishing books in collaboration with Haystack publishers that will bring you up to spe on an online theme within an hour , such as ‘Slimmer online werken’ by Stephan ten Kate . Can you say something meaningful about such a broad topic within an hour? And does the book also offer something new for advanc online workers?

When I was ask to review the book ‘Working Smarter Online in 60 Minutes’, I hesitat for a moment. I already work a lot online myself and know dozens  list to data of tricks and hacks. Moreover, ‘Working Smarter Online’ is a thin book that you can read in an hour. Would I still learn something from it? Nevertheless, I decid to read and review the book, so that I could also tell others whether this book is worth it.A one of the tools

Concise and complete

When I leaf through the first pages I was immiately surpris. Author Stephan ten Kate does not get  . A stuck in superficial tips or vague sermons, but is concrete and yet concise from the first pages. In this way he succes in presenting the essence of Getting Things Done in a very limit number of pages , something for which guru David Allen nes a complete book. However, do not think that ‘Working Smarter Online’ remains superficial because of this. If you do not yet work according to this Getting Things Done, then that part of the booklet alone is worth buying.

Pack with useful apps and tools

A strong point of ‘Working Smarter Online’ is that it does not stop at general concepts such as Getting Things Done, but that in addition a great many smart apps and tools are discuss. Do you want to deal smartly with lists on social mia, a good app for your to-do list, working in the cloud, sharing presentations or mind mapping?  clean email For everything, Ten Kate mentions at least two or three excellent apps for Android, Apple or Microsoft.

He doesn’t stop at well-known apps like Evernote , but also mentions lesser-known tools like f.lux , Twylah (Twitter  the ongoing dialogue partnering for continuous success with services brand assessment), SocialBro (understand your Twitter community), CamScanner or Buffer . All apps that help you not to wander aimlessly online for hours, but to organize your online life in a target manner, so that you remain in control.
